Saudi Arabia is known for its support for madrassas - the radical Islamic schools where many Taliban and al Qaeda suspects were schooled. And that begs a question: is it just a coincidence that, according to the Associated Press, the Saudi school year apparently starts on September 11th?
I am the co-chairperson of the Progressive Legislative Action Network (PLAN) - a position I took after finishing a stint as a fellow at the Center for American Progress. I am also a writer for Working Assets, and a twice-a-week guest on the Al Franken Show.
