Grassroots Fueling Sanders

The Rutland Herald and Brattleboro Reformer have stories this morning and Babout how the grassroots will be critical to the Vermont open-seat Senate race in 2006. In just three days, 2,500 Moveon.org members pledged their support - and $135,000 - to Rep. Bernie Sanders' campaign. That is truly amazing - and its exactly the kind of thing Bernie needs. He raises money the old fashioned way: from the grassroots. This kind of early support shows the Republicans that progressives will not be intimidated by the warchest of corporate cash they regularly deploy.
