A few months ago I did a post noting that Virginia's U.S. Sen. George Allen (R) said "I don't give a sh-t about Community Development Block Grants." Via Matt Yglesias, I just saw this article from the Richmond Times Dispatch showing exactly why Sen. Allen - and others - should give a sh-t about these grants and the proposed cuts to them. Check it out.
I am the co-chairperson of the Progressive Legislative Action Network (PLAN) - a position I took after finishing a stint as a fellow at the Center for American Progress. I am also a writer for Working Assets, and a twice-a-week guest on the Al Franken Show. I have just completed a book for Random House's Crown Publishers entitled "Hostile Takeover" - it will be released Spring 2006.
