Growth In America's Southwest
I'm sitting in Salt Lake City airport on my way back from a meeting in Phoenix. On the flight out, I was struck by how huge that city really is, and how sprawled out it is. I know this is obvious, but boy does the Southwest have serious growth issues, especially considering the region's lack of water. How to deal with that surely will be a major challenge in the years to come. The region's libertarian streak will run squarely up against a need for serious city/community planning.
