Sleepless on Sunday, Thanks to Lord of War

I am a big fan of heading to the movies on Sunday nights - it's a good way to escape thoughts of the impending week ahead. In that vein, I often gravitate to comedies on Sunday - but tonight I broke my rule and went for one of the deeper movies playing here in Helena, a flick called Lord of War. And though I will likely be punished for my decision by a sleepless night of thinking, contemplating, and being generally disturbed by what I watched, I must recommend this movie highly.

Every now and again a movie comes along that mixes a good plot, action and a deeper commentary on the world that really shakes viewers. Lord of War is one of them. The only criticism I have of the movie is that it leaves you feeling hopeless...but then, maybe that's a reflection on the reality of the problems the film deals with, rather than a fault of the film itself. In any event, go see this movie. It is truly powerful.
