COVER STORY: The Race to Watch in 2006

Christopher Hayes has a terrific new cover story in In These Times about the Ohio Senate race, and the progressive movement's chance to elect one its true champions, Sherrod Brown. It is quite an interesting read. The editors at the magazine asked me to do a sidebar on the politics of the race, which I agreed to do. I have not and do not work for any of the candidates in this race - the reason I and others are interested in the contest is because we are interested in the progressive movement in general. This race is a very real opportunity for our movement - and there should be no apologies made by people who are interested in seeing a proven progressive standard bearer elected to the Senate.
