The Blogosphere vs. The Realworldosphere
A new poll out about the upcoming Ohio Democratic primary race is a big reminder that sometimes the perceptions in the blogosphere and perceptions in the real world are very, very different.
The basic gist of the poll is this: despite all the hype about Paul Hackett (D) and the blogosphere's willingness to ignore serious questions about his candidacy, it is clear Ohio voters in the real world see things quite differently. As the poll shows, Rep. Sherrod Brown (D) is absolutely crushing Hackett in the race for the Democratic nomination.
I hope this poll will convince Hackett to go back and run for that House seat against Congress's freshman crazy person, Rep. Jean Schmidt (R), instead of getting destroyed in this primary. Hackett was reportedly meeting recently with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) - let's hope, for the sake of the Democratic Party and the progressive movement, he makes the jump to that race.
