Good News & Bad News in Latest AP Poll

There's good news and bad news for Democrats in a new Associated Press poll - but on both fronts, the news is predictable.

First the good news:

"The steady drumbeat of scandal has registered with Americans. An Associated Press-Ipsos poll found that 88 percent of those surveyed said corruption is a serious problem and 67 percent said a moderate number to a lot of public officials are involved."

Now, the bad news:

"Democrats were considered more ethical by 36 percent, while 33 percent cited Republicans — a difference within the poll's margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points."

So to sum up - the vast majority of the public believes corruption is a big problem in politics right now, but basically, both parties are viewed as roughly equally dirty. And unfortunately, until the Democrats embrace real reform like public financing of elections, it might just stay that way.
