Hillary Clinton Gets a Primary Challenge

According to The Nation, Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) is going to be getting a primary challenge from Jonathan Tasini, the former president of the National Writers Union. Tasini already has a campaign website up, and has posted a note on the Huffington Post saying he will formally announce today. His campaign seems pretty straightforward - he's going after Clinton on the Iraq War, and advocating for a renegotiation of "free" trade deals and the extension of Medicare to cover all Americans.

The Nation notes that Tasini is "one of the most outspoken progressive activists in the U.S. labor movement." His website, Working Life, is well-known, as is his work pleading the case Tasini vs. New York Times before the U.S. Superme Court. Stay tuned...this could get interesting.
