Vermont's Independent Congressman Bernie Sanders, who is running for the U.S. Senate in 2006, has just launched a blog about his candidacy and the progressive movement in America. Sanders is very different from the typical politician, and not just because he's the longest-serving independent in history. He's forged a different politics by giving voice to the very real concerns of working people - concerns that are too often left out of America's political debate entirely. And if he is elected to the Senate, he will be able to forge powerful coalitions with people like Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI), who was recently in Vermont campaigning for Bernie.
