GOP Senator Defends Corporate Jet Loophole
You really have to be incredibly corrupt to be a Senator who publicly defends the loophole that allows lawmakers to be shuttled around by Big Money interests on corporate jets. But that's what Georgia GOP Sen. Saxby Chambliss did today in the New York Times.
Chambliss "spent more on corporate jet travel than any other incumbent senator" and is opposing legislation by Sens. Russ Feingold (D) and Barack Obama (D) that would close the loophole once and for all. Hilariously, "Chambliss said he never spoke to a lobbyist 'about any particular issue' on his trips.
Yeah, right, Saxby. They were just flying you around because they thought you were a nice guy.
